Happy NEW NEW Year Folks!!!!
Hope all had a wonderful time farewell 2013, and embracing the amazing 2014 ahead of us!
Wish all have an AWESOME AWESOME year! Whoop!!!
Starting the year with a special blog, hope you like it 😉
the Seven Sisters Cliff
Transportation: Train to Seaford Station, and then a 8-10mins walk would lead you to the seaside.
A short trip to 4 days trip to Brighton to visit my friend in University of Sussex. Her classmates recommend me I must go to the Seven Sister for my stop by here. We took off around noon time, grab food at one of the supermarket as we arrive at Seaford, and off we go! These black cloud hovering over us, really got us nervous, we don’t want our trip to be spoiled! (the far end is the cliff that we’ll be climbing, very steeeeeep!)
As we walk further, blue skys and these colorful beach cabins await us. These beach cabins were said to exist date back from Victorian Era, and have it in Australia, France, Italy and beaches in England as well. It’s shelter for the sun, wind, people’s belonging. Not sure if it’s for rent, or someone has bought the beach cabin for a session of time.
A view over the town.
THIS is what we will be climbing, we can’t even see what’s at the other end, until we were over this cliff. No idea we knew what we were into, until it begins, and went long hours climbing. It’s said that we went the LONGEST and HARDEST way to see the Seven Sisters, but the BEST view. There are other ways with path much flatter, however I think I still like this, it’s fun feeling a bit lost and giggle the whole way through.
Up we GO!
At last! The sparkling water of English Channel awaits us at the top!
Gosh, playing golf on top of the cliff? We bet if someone swing their golf too hard, bingo, the ball into the English Channel and off to France! It seems we are very near these golfers, wait until you see pics below, and then will realize we are actually very FAR from them, it took us a curvy 10-15mins walk to get to there.
Finally saw a sign indicating: we are on the right track. Whew……and all the climbing. We thought we were close to the destination as we saw the seven white cliffs that were being eroded by the wind and sea, and went so exciting taking pic with this sign, not until we realize……THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING!
An old man with his dog walking toward the path we came from. It seems such a lonely walk………
FINALLY these golfers were in sight. Can find in the far right that this golf course is actually bigger than what we have in mind, there is a great hill at the other end where they started, no idea where that is.
It’s a beautiful day and the water was at its perfect blue with yacht sailing.
And down we go! We thought it’ll be faster if we roll down the hill, haha.
Plenty of “Cliff Edge” sign, since its really dangerous, people may be so fond of the view and kept on walking toward it, and then……
Finally down the hill, we got to be close with the English Channel. HELLO FRANCE! Strong wind that day, i was koalaing that handrail since the water is seriously just down there if i get blew off, 5 stairs to be exact.
A great view walking toward the cliff, we have small hills on the left, the English Channel on the right, and finally did we see more and more people, also more chairs for people to relax. It’s the ultimate place to daydream, the wind blow, the smell of the sea, mother earth gifted this spectacular view.
We finally saw the sand shore, which is the start of the Seven Sisters Cliff, and from there IF you still have the energy, can go conquer the rest of the 7 sisters. We have a small incident on the way, so we need to rush back…..uh….and we can’t find the way down. Good thing my friend goggle map with her iPhone (this tell me must have a good phone when traveling, very in handy when get lost), and found another path that may lead us to a parking lot.
Bah Bah Bah Sheep. THIS is what Bah Bah Bah Sheep is.
“We need a lifetime to tell us where we had left our foot prints; We need everyday’s hard work to tell us how far we can achieve.” I hope one day when I am at this time of my life, I can be with my besties chatting, giggling, and chilling over this amazing view.
When we got to the parking lot, there is actually no bus or any public transportation to get us off here. We hitchhike. Ha. I think this is when we go adventurous when traveling and to believe in stranger. A nice young couple from Poland took us down the hill and to the train station. Very thankful for their generosity to lend us a ride!
For those looking forward to climb the Seven Sisters Cliff. This one is the hard way, but with the best view of the sea, and the whole Seven Sisters Cliff(not missing any sister from the cliff, or only see parts of it). It’s a great adventure. Come along when stop by Brighton =)
For those who love Musicals, you’ll absolutely love this post 😀
As commodity price is high in UK, to save transportation is “be an early bird”, plan your trip early, know your date and time of travel.
The ticket is “float fare” depends on the date (popular travel date/ holidays), time (a normal traveling time not like midnight), and how many people had bought this tickets.
Continue reading [UNITED KINGDOM] Transportation in UK
