早安啊 香水巴黎! Bonjour Paris!
How do you start off your day? A scent of your choice to start the sunshine?
I remembered when studying in the States, Dad would say “Good morning sunshine, how are you today? Potatoes ready!” (munch munch potatoes)
I started to wear perfume when studying in the States, however after coming back I hardly wear it often, as people think- why a student wear perfume to school? Sometimes my inner “I don’t care what you think” comes and there I go.
When I was a little kid, 100%, all hands up I dislike the smell of perfume, and have no idea why people appreciate it so much, what’s most so expensive!
In the States I recalled seeing people spraying something not a perfume, however a light spray, and spray it all over her from head to her breast and I was like O_____O, geeeeeeeees! As the American and Canadian always say : “We care about our hygiene.”
Living a life in Paris for a month, a little observation comes around the corner: in every girl’s room there is always a special table with all the perfumes they have from the very FIRST one (or when they start remember not throwing away) till the current one they are using right now, and they can always tell you the story of where they bought it, who sent it to them, which year……details of this perfume’s history with them.
As for guy, same thing, perfume is a must when getting out of his room, it’s a French thing.
When we think of Paris, we think of perfume, however the street of Paris is a mix of perfume and tobacco in the air. Parisienne that has a cigarette on her hand always have my second eye, they looks like I don’t know how to describe…TOUGH to me!
Not until I was studying Luxury Products Management in Paris did I know that perfumes are differentiate in so many kinds according to essence concentrations and other chemistry components, of course the price varies according to these as well.
In class we discussed about: Why Asian doesn’t wear that much of perfume comparing to European/ American?
My Vietnamese classmate and I came to a conclusion: Asia has a tropical weather, with the combination of temperature, sweats, and perfume all together, to sum up, the smell in the air perhaps is something you can’t even create for a perfume!
On top of that, as what my Mom always tell me: “You are interfering me in breathing fresh air, I don’t want to know what you smell like today!”
對了～在英文裡如果有人問你: What are you wearing today?
他可不是想要知道你今天內衣穿的多麼多彩繽紛，他是想要問你 “請問你今天噴了哪款香水?” 噢～
Sephora is a worldwide cosmetic shop though we don’t have it here in Taiwan, no matter what you buy there are always perfume sampling being put in your shopping bag. I was so excited when seeing these sampling tubes, they were being packed very neatly and I went to my French girl friend, a lover of perfume and interned in Sephora this summer, telling me because perfume are expensive, they provide sampling for customers to try it out to ensure this is what that have in mind before pouring their money on the counter. I think it’s a fantastic idea!
