[LONDON] Say Likes to British Gentelmen

David+Beckham (1)

one-direction-band

When I was UK…I enjoyed the beautiful landscape that mother nature gave us as I crawled all the way up to the cliff by the English Channel, the shopping spree Bond. Street and also gentlemen?!!!!

What Makes You Beautiful—One Direction The Wanted, Jude Law, Robert Pattinson, David Beckham!….and 路人甲乙丙丁

Besides One Direction and The Wanted so mmmmmmmmmmmuah! Jude Law for some era, Robert Pattinson and David Beckham!

Anyway I thought European maybe indifferent (Parisian are..got me crazy), however when get to chat with British will realize they like to “talk”, here I am seriously saying “talk” as in non-stop talk. When in the dance floor in pub, everyone will be holding their glass and “talk”, not many people were dancing, but “talking” or can non-stop talk strolling a day in the city, which I pretty much doze off already staring at the Thames and he can still be talking. I always thought British are smart, I don’t know why…..and I think they are really smart, since they can come up with a subject in all aspect, chat anything in despite regarding to their family and privacy.

During my one and a half month stay in London, I stayed at my friend’s dorm (Zone 2 South-East of London) and Auntie’s house (Zone 6 North-West of London). Carrying 30kgs bulk luggage up and down the underground in London was no kidding………however!!!!!

Story 1: London City Airport – My friend’s house (Zone 2 South-East of London)

The first underground I took as I arrived in London City Airport was DLR (Docklands Light Railway) and had to change to Overground. A thing you don’t want to encounter in London underground system is : NO elevator!

It’s like a nightmare for travelers, and for me who crazily packed 30 kilos.

As these two mighty Asian girls tried to carry this bulk luggage down the stairs, out of no where a British guy came from our back and kindly want to lend a hand. We told him, “it is very very heavy,” but he insisted in helping out and we thought “okay….,” and he wooped carried the luggage down that stairs with his face growing redder and redder contrasting to his very pale white skin and sweat drizzle down his face. We rolled our eyes with astonished and thanked him having his “exercise of the day!”, he chuckled, wished us having a great summer in London, and waved goodbye running up the stairs. To our surprised he was actually going down the left side of the stairs, and saw this two Asian girls going down right, and come in help to us. I felt so thankful in encountering a nice British on my first day in London. One like to British!

Story 2: Friend’s house (South-East London Zone 2) – Auntie’s house (North-West London Zone 6) Part 1

I sincerely want to kill myself in really filling up my whole luggage, and the airlines I took in giving my 30kilos luggage allowance! (Most of the airlines in flying Asia-Europe only give passenger 20kilos for traveling). Anyway with all this burden, this time…only my friend is there to help me out to carry my luggage down the long stairwells to the platform as I was moving from her place to Auntie’s place. The station head was very nice not charging my friend to get into the station in helping me carry my luggage, however I have an hour ride in the underground transferring 2 times until I arrived to my destination. Canada Water was my first stop in transferring to Jubilee Line. I realized later that Jubilee Line & Metropolitan Line are parallel, starting from Finchley Road to Wembley Station as there are 5 more stops in between in Jubilee Line and Metropolitan Line just drive through it.  Anyway I didn’t know this this time, and went for an hour ride in the underground, as I transfer in my 2nd station, a group of British men helped me as I am sure they had wondered for a long while where this Asian girl might stop at and would give a hand out. Lol…thanks to them! 5 likes thumbs up to them!

Story 3: Friend’s house (South-East London Zone 2) – Auntie’s house (North-West London Zone 6) Part 2

My heart was out crying for elevator in London Underground….pleaseeeeeee give me elevator London!!!!! Sigh….I guess god was enjoying his British afternoon tea and can’t hear my shout out. There, a long path of stairs waiting for me again as I step out of the underground on my way to auntie’s house. It was a nice sunny afternoon on the first day of August, however afternoon means all men are out working, therefore only ladies, seniors, and children were being seen in the underground. In the far distance I spot a young man on his way to the stairs, I pulled my luggage and strive big steps to his way, he saw me and walked slowly waiting for me by the stairs. As I walked, I looked around trying to find a second helping hand and saw a man in his 40s walking toward the stairs on his mobile as well. I heard him saying to the other end “okokok, I have to hang up now, there is a young girl need my help, talk to you later!” Geeeesssss, I seriously want to give him a big hug and cry. He and the young man each grab a hold of my luggage and pulled it up the stairs, joking with each other. Auntie was surprised how I manage to carried this bulk thing around, and I must say there are many gentlemen around in London!  300thumbs up likes to British gentlemen!

ㄏㄏㄏㄏ

I think I am really lucky in bumping into generous helpful people during my stay in London, and giving them 300 thumbs up likes! Truly my stereotype that British might be arrogant was nowhere to be found.  Afterwards in September my classmate went to London to study said ‘there is no such things in London!!!!.” She carried everything on her own, up and down the town…….oh well…perhaps its better to give them a pity round eyes face eyeing them ‘I need help’ 😉
